How to Bridge the Gap Between Knowing and Doing

Becky WilliamsFat Loss, lifestyle, Nutrition

Even when you know the basics of good nutrition and exercise, it can still be difficult to put those into practice consistently day in and day out.

Even us fit pros have our struggles, and we have a wealth of nutrition and fitness knowledge, because it’s our job! 😄

There are always obstacles to work around, low motivation days (or weeks), stressful events, and temptation to treat ourselves more often than our goals and health would dictate. And sometimes it’s the missing pieces of the puzzle, the strategies and tools, that get us from knowing to doing, that we need the most.

A few examples:

  • Plan your meals and snacks to make sure you’re getting in enough protein and veggies
  • Carry around a water bottle or tumbler to remind you to drink throughout the day
  • Set a reminder or alarm on your phone to get up and move around regularly
  • Eat more slowly to give your body time to register fullness
  • Schedule workouts in your planner
  • Set a reminder or alarm to tell you to wind down before bedtime
